Welcome to the Florida Backcountry
|
Most of us are familiar with the "touristy" spots of the Everglades where the "so-called" stars of the show are noisy airboats, alligator wrestling, swamp buggies and nothing short of domesticated wildlife. Unfamiliar to most of us though, is a wild and untouched side of the Southwest Florida we call the backcountry. Created by wind, water, weather and fire, and protected by those who foresaw the need for it's preservation, today offers "real" environmental enthusiasts some of the best natural world exploration, education and wildlife photography that Florida has to offer.

Does the thought of seeing dolphin, manatees, alligators and sea turtles in their natural habitat grab your attention?
