This challenging and scenic paddle takes you on a journey through several remote lakes and tidal creeks of the Everglades and 10,000 Islands. Highlighted by mangrove tunnels, blackwater, orchids and bromeliads, this is one of our favorite routes. Depending on tidal conditions, challenge your skills on the swift-current found throughout the area. For orchid lovers, June-November is peak blooming season for several rare and endangered species. Wildlife encounters usually include wading birds and hawks, but could also include manatee, alligators and eagles.
